Coloured Tri-triśūlābja-maṇḍala (Triple Trident mandala), drawn from liturgical instructions in the Tantrāloka, chapter 31 by Abhinavagupta, also prescribed in the Trikasadbhāvatantra. Part of the outline of the maṇḍala was drawn from the original by Stephanie Sanderson in Alexis Sanderson’s Maṇḍala and Āgamic Identity in the Trika of Kashmir (Paris: Éditions du CNRS, 1986). Additional elements by de Vietri include digital precision, triadic stamens, light grey fade, bindu, catuṣkikā, surrounding border, and colour. Colouring reference: Tantrāloka 31 (trans. Mark Dyczkowski) and personal communication with Dyczkowski. Petals have been drawn to represent the cakras of twelve, sixteen and twenty-four (an alteration which Wallis and Ellik also adopted in their representation of the maṇḍala in Tantra Illuminated).

This image is intended for educational purposes, to assist qualified practitioners in constructing the mandala in powder on the ground.
